During this programme you will challenge current thinking through reverse mentoring and  collaborate with experts and decision makers on the most pressing challenges.  This programme will help you build the skills, knowledge, and networks you need to make decisions for public services in Wales.

The Programme

The Future Generations Leadership Academy is a pilot programme due to launch in early December 2019. This is a partnership programme led by the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales.

Over 10 months from January - October 2020 you will access knowledge and skills sessions via an online learning portal, regardless of your location. You will meet your cohort for a face to face session approximately 1-2 times a month, the location of these sessions will vary. The online element will require a commitment of 4-9 hours each month to complete group discussion, tasks and reflections.

You will have access to internship opportunities with a public body organisation, and attend a leadership summer school.

You will learn and work alongside 17 other participants from a diverse range of backgrounds, sectors and areas of Wales. During the programme you will:

  • Go behind closed doors and get to know top Welsh leaders, discovering how they make decisions that affect you.
  • Explore, research and discuss the macro and micro (national and at an organizational level) challenges that Wales is facing.
