Young people create social action films as part of Surviving to Thriving

January 16, 2018

In 2017, UpRising launched Surviving to Thriving in Birmingham and Luton, in partnership with the British Red Cross and Refugee Council. The programme will run over 2 years and will benefit 500 separated young asylum seekers and refugees through a range of activities including therapy, case work, life skills, leadership development and training.

In just a few months, 214 young people have been referred at the national level, with 135 young people accessing our services.

As leadership development, young refugees and asylum seekers take part in UpRising’s Find Your Power programme, including leadership sessions, designing and shooting a social action film and a Community Question time.

Here are two of the videos that young people have made on the Find Your Power programme.

We look forward to seeing more videos and community action in 2018!
