What is UpRising
UpRising is a leadership programme and a venture launched and developed by the Young Foundation to support and train a new generation of public leaders.
UpRising was launched in 2008 in the East London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Newham and Tower Hamlets. The programme expanded to Birmingham in October 2010 and Bedford in September 2011, with plans to expand to other major cities across the UK beginning with Manchester.
The UpRising leadership programme was co-founded by Rushanara Ali, Director, Young Foundation; Geoff Mulgan, Chief Executive, Young Foundation; Will Norman, Director, Young Foundation; and Omar Salem, Associate, Young Foundation.
