We believe good leadership is learnt through practice, feedback and reflection. The UpRising leadership programme is underpinned by a model of action-learning.

Key components include

Self awareness: In order to lead others, you need to understand yourself. Throughout the UpRising programme, you will be encouraged to reflect on your experiences to help you increase your understanding of your current skills, strengths and areas for development.

Working with difference: Throughout the UpRising programme, you will be exposed to new people, new ideas, new experiences and new challenges. We believe that these new opportunities will expose you to new skills and knowledge that you can then apply in your life.

Action learning: UpRising is about learning by doing. For example, by setting up and running a community campaign or project, you will be able to practice a range of leadership skills including planning, teamwork and communication.

Constructive feedback: UpRising will provide opportunities to receive feedback on your actions in a supportive environment. World-class experts, mentors and the UpRising team will help you to develop greater clarity about yourself. This feedback will help inform decisions about your personal development and future.
