Sofia Cusano

Sofia is a 20 year old 3rd year History and Politics student at Queen Mary, University of London. She is currently a full-time student with a part-time barrista job, as well as a member of UpRising.

Her interests lie mainly with politics, which is very broad, but she is particularly passionate about female equality and education, hence the SAC project she is a part of – BookBuddies.

The aim of Book Buddies is to give confidence in reading to those that would not usually have access to books, or be able to read for pleasure. Sofia feels strongly that a good home environment that encourages study is hugely beneficial to the education of any child.

She is inspired by anyone who is able to make a difference, from Annie Besant to a passionate school teacher, to a local politician. Anyone with the drive and determination to change things for the better.
