Joshua Wallace
Joshua is 23 years old. He studied at the University of Manchester for his undergraduate degree and at University College London for his postgraduate degree.
His undergraduate degree was in history and after his experiences abroad he became more interested in the role of international financial institutions and the role of the private sector in international development.
He is started a new job in November in Business Consultancy. Josh hopes this will serve as a stepping stone to eventually go in to consulting work in emerging markets, of which he is particularly interested in political risk-based consulting.
The SAC that he is involved with is focused on employability. His project is aimed at equipping 14-16 year olds with basic business skills and helping facilitate groups to produce mini business plans. They are hoping that they will be able to bring together a number of local business people from the community who will potentially invest in these plans if they think they are viable.
His parents inspire him because in them he can see a first hand example of hard work, sacrifice and compassion to always try to make the lives of those around them better.
