Deola Sulola

Deola is 25 years old and currently works at The Boxing Academy in Hackney, which is an institution committed to changing the lives of young people aged thirteen to sixteen who are in danger of educational exclusion by combining mentoring and basic education with mainstream school.
 

He is, and always has been, motivated by issues of social justice. He is keen to use the best of his abilities to make a positive impact on his environment, keen to expand his reach and also help bring out the best of those around him.
 

Deola's UpRising social action campaign, called School Swap, is built around addressing issues of social cohesion. The basic idea of the project is to introduce a system in which students from different social groups, communities and schools are introduced to each other to learn the value of citizenship, learn from each other, and consequently develop a sense of nationhood. 
 

He is inspired by anybody who works close to their full potential: sports stars, friends and public leaders who excel whilst also allowing for those to excel around them.
