Matthew Brereton
I’m 24 years old and currently working as a field service engineer working with analytical instruments. These instruments are used in a wide variety of industries including health, pharmaceuticals and environmental testing.
I have a huge interest in music on a global scale and I love exposing myself to types of music which I think I would not like to try and surprise myself and learn something new. I love philosophy and I’m trying to find the time to finish Aristotle's metaphysics. My favourite philosopher by far is Socrates.
My career ambition is to at some point move into an OEM analytical instruments company and work my way up to a high service managerial role this may include a lateral move into sales for a short period.
Our SAP is called ‘Earn and Learn’. I was very pleased to see that I had been put into this group as I fully believe in the core aims of this SAP and I am, therefore, looking forward to making my contribution to the cause.
One of my main inspirations from a business point of view is Terry Leahy, largely for the way he completely turned Tesco around. I also really admire what Bill Gates is doing in regards to the Gates Foundation. I admire the fact that he has made a lot of money and is using his power to influence and change the world.
