Katherine Cross

I am 22 years old and currently in my second year studying Law LLB. I am also working as a student ambassador for the university, as well as recently becoming the events officer for the Bedford branch of the Law Society.

I intend to complete my degree and begin my Legal Practice Course, with the intention of becoming a solicitor. Ultimately i would love to work doing advocacy for a non profit organisation, such as Amnesty International, due to my interest in International Law and Human Rights; however would also love to do an internship in the UN.

Our SAC is named MYMY and is based on the idea of raising aspirations in Bedford. We aim to take a group of fifteen year old children and take them through a series of workshops to help them develop employment skills, leading towards a professional interview in the final session. This will help the development of soft skills in our youth.

My inspiration is my son, he is almost two years old, having him has made me realise what a huge impact i can have on another person. I aspire to be a positive role model and his inspiration to believe he can do anything if he puts his mind to it. Therefore i aim to do anything i can to give him the best life possible.
